Up for grabs is an Omega Speedmaster in steel
105.003-63 reference, a very rare sub-reference of 105.003’s only being produced with about 5000 Omega serial number range, whereas the -64 and -65, for example, are produced within time period of over 2 million serial numbers.
205227XX serial number correctly aligning within range of -63 sub-reference
Nice strong case with thick and defined lugs. Skinny logo crown. Pushers appear original.
Dial is original, applied logo. It has been professionally relumed with tritium based compound with some faux patina added. Hands are original, and have also been relumed to match the dial. No refinish or reprint. The watch was found with lume “washed” and hand’s tritium chipping away, so the judgement call to made to relume to better esthetics. The price full reflects this.
The bezel is original DON
Caseback is original with clear Hippocampus and stamped 105.003-63 inside.
Bracelet is original Omega 7912 dated in 1964. One of the end-links is aftermarket replacement and one is original “6”.
Crystal was also replaced with OEM Omega hesalite crystal as original was too scratched up to reuse.
Overall this is a wearable, attractive, mostly all-original early 003 reference for the right price.
