Up for grabs is a Rolex Explorer 1
6610 reference with cal. 1030 movement
168,XXX serial number circa early 1956 production
Excellent vintage condition case with thick and even lugs. Original “+” crown. Serial and reference numbers are intact and readable.
Dial is a very early gilt and glossy chapter ring service tritium dial. Gilt print on top with silver OCC and gilt chapter ring. Dial is still glossy as seen in pictures, damage free. Dial has aged to an incredible caramel brown color and is clearly visible under any light. I have provided pictures in shade as well as outside under the sun.
Caseback is original, stamped 6610 and II.56 inside. Outside has what appear to be initials engraved. This can be removed at request, but shown and presented as found.
The crystal is domed, possibly original, and has been polished lightly before the sale.
The movement is in excellent physical condition. Watch winds smoothly and runs, but service history is not known or documented.
